Isotec XL
The advantages of micro-ventilation have now been confirmed by experience, and by calculations and laboratory tests; this experimentation has also demonstrated the possibility of further increasing the convection currents in the under-tile area, thus improving the performance of the system itself. In particular, with a larger ventilation section, the ventilation flow from the eaves to the ridge guarantees better performance of disposal of any water vapour accumulated in the roof, ensuring resistance of the roof covering over time.
This aspect is also explicitly requested by brick or cement tile manufacturers in northern Europe, citing the German DIN 4108-3:2001 standard or the UNI 9460:2008 standard. Furthermore, in summer, the increased ventilation contributes to improving the thermal performance of the roof, reducing the probability of overheating.
The new Isotec XL panel is made of rigid expanded polyurethane foam which guarantees high thermal resistance; the integrated steel batten, clad in aluminium-zinc alloy with a height of 4 cm, has a profile designed to guarantee a ventilation of more than 200 cm2/m of a section of air in the eave lines. The evolution is not limited to the increase of the ventilation chamber but, thanks again to the new box-shaped profile, it perfectly holds the tiles and guarantees maximum walkability, even in the presence of very high slopes.
